The Blazers boys’ varsity basketball team delivered another instant classic in what has become a season full of thrills, defeating Einstein Friday evening after one overtime 79-72. The game started off slow and sluggish for Blair, who scored only 21 points in the first half (two of which were taken away due to an error in the books, one of several controversies plaguing the game). Down 17 at the half, Blair battled all second half, and on a fourth-quarter run gained their first lead of the game. But it was Einstein’s senior night, and the crowd stayed in the game, buoying their team to force overtime. The teams came out of the break and exchanged buckets, but Einstein could not knock down their shots and resorted to sending the Blazers to the line. When the final buzzer sounded, the Blazers escaped Einstein with an intense win, spoiling their senior night.
