The Girls Varsity Soccer Team looked sharp in their early morning encounter with Smithsburg (Washington County, MD), relentlessly swarming the visitor’s goal throughout the game. Junior Sophie Kim scored, what proved to be the game-winner, in the 6th minute of the game, on a beautiful through ball from Senior Tri-Captain Noa Dorah. The Blazers had a number of good chances in the first half, including a couple off of the post, but the half ended with a narrow 1-0 lead. The Blazers came out strong in the second half as well, and slowly wore down the visiting Leopards. Dorah scored her first goal of the season in the 53rd minute, on a nifty assist from Kim. And Senior Tri-Captain, Janie Pitner, salted the win away with a powerful strike off of a second assist by Kim, to give the Blazers a 3-0 result. Senior goalkeeper, Bernadette Hargrove, kept a clean sheet and recorded her first shutout of the season.
