The Blair Boys’ Varsity Basketball team kept fans on the edge of their seats for 32 minutes on Friday night. The game quickly turned into a gritty defensive battle, with both teams keeping a brisk tempo as they ran the floor on the break. Blair kept Rockville on their toes, forcing turnovers and missed shots, keeping the Rams within striking distance. With the clock winding down in the 4th corner, a technical foul gifted the Blazers an opportunity to tie the game and take the last shot. Blair missed one of the free throws, and with them trailing 46-47, launched a game-winning three-point shot that fell short at the buzzer. Boys’ Varsity faces Clarksburg at Clarksburg on Tuesday, December 18, and are at home versus Gaithersburg on Thursday, December 20.
