After the snow day on Monday, the Blazers’ Boys’ Varsity basketball team let out all of that pent up energy on the court at Wheaton, beating them 62-41. Blair began the game hot from beyond the arc, with senior Ethan Ellis knocking down 3 three-pointers in the first half alone. Strong offensive performances from several Blazers led to good defense on the other end, with Blair looking to gobble up the rebounds off of Wheaton’s missed shots. Their rebounding core, however, had a poor showing throughout the game, and Wheaton’s offensive rebounds, coupled with continued Blazer carelessness with the ball, kept them in the game. After the half, Blair continued to pour in the baskets, and with the score differential well into the double digits, Coach Damon Pigrom was able to empty the bench and give each player formative and valuable minutes. The Blazers face Kennedy at home tonight and then travel to Sherwood on Friday, January 16.
